Indian Muslims Have Contributed Largely

Indian Muslims have always been a part of the Indian culture for several years. Though Islam is not a native religion of India, it still houses the second largest population of Muslims in the world after Indonesia, at 15 percent of the entire population. Muslims have even contributed to the freedom movement in India. They can be associated with the lims heroic figure of Mangal Pandey, who was one of the first Indians to revolt violently against British rule. Jinnah played a very important role, towards the last years of the freedom struggle. He along with Gandhi and Nehru, was a prominent figure in raising his voice against the British.

Sadly, he was also the cause of the partition of India into Hindu India and Muslim India, which is now Pakistan. Though many Muslims, or most of them left the country, many stayed back in India. There are also a number of converts to the Muslim religion, who contribute to the population of the Muslim community in India. Since the freedom, all Muslims in India have contributed politically, socially and economically towards the country. India is a highly diverse country in terms of religion and culture, and has a Muslim for a President. It was never a Hindu nation, it allowed all religious groups to be part of the land.

It is a widely known fact around the world, that there is a religious war between the Muslims of India and the Hindus of the country. There are several popular famous figures that are also part of this war, and it is a shame to the face of the country. The Hindus allegedly demolished a mosque, which they believe was built on the site where one of their Gods Rama was born. This sparked off a wider controversy between the Muslims and Hindus, besides the India Pakistan war.

A large number of Muslims have been killed in this clash between the two religious communities. The birth of Islam in India can be dated back to the seventh century, and this is the time when the first mosque was built too. This can be dated to as early as the discovery of the religion. Since then, Muslims have left an impact in the Indian culture. Indian Muslim architecture is also another prominent feature of the Muslim community. They can be dated back to several centuries.

Shah Jahan contributed the Taj Mahal to India, and it still stands as the most popular and most beautiful monument in India, not to forget that it was mentioned in the Seven Wonders of the World. As it is common today, there are several associations for Muslims in India. This will cater to the needs of the Muslims in the country, from all castes and from anywhere in the country. Controversies about Muslim converts can be put behind, because it is not much of a concern to anybody. Indian Muslims respect and embrace anyone who convert themselves and become part of Islam.
