Islam according to a review is the fastest growing religion in America. There are about 1000 mosques in this country alone, and about 30 percent of the Muslim population in America are converts to the religion. There are obviously thousands of Muslim immigrants that form the majority in the community of American Muslims.
They come from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia and several other countries. Many Muslim immigrants in America believe that the American culture is a lot like Islamic laws. They say that they have values for their families, work and faith. Some Muslims will disagree with this point of view though. There are mosques in every state in the United States.
There has been a supposed rise of mosques by 25 percent since 1994 in America. Atleast 70 percent of Muslims in America believe that they must participate in American culture and politics. Nearly 20 percent of mosques have Muslim schools too. According to the political leaders of America, American Muslims have contributed valuably to the country.
After the 9/11 attacks, Muslims were asked to be treated with respect by high political organizations of America. Muslims in America have various professions. They range from doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs and military persons to shopkeepers and waiters.
There is a society called The Muslim American society that is a charitable and religious non-profit organization. It is known popularly as the MAS. The organization calls to revive Islam and also help the Muslims who have permanently decided to live in America. There are several other organizations besides the MAS for Muslims in America.
These organizations constantly work to preserve the Muslim culture in America, which is constantly under change. Muslim Americans work together, to spread the message of Islam, to Muslims and non-Muslims. This is to bring unity between them. They also spread the values that Islam teaches, about equality, justice, compassion, mercy and peace.
A few mosques in prominent cities in America slowly spread to several schools, businesses, political organizations and associations across the country. This is the kind of effect Islam has had in the land of America. Though a lot of Muslims have abandoned their home countries to live in America, they have not forgotten their true religion and the laws they have to abide by.
Some unfortunate incidents like the 9/11 attacks have taken a toll on the Muslims in America. Though Islam has grown in leaps and bounds in this country, this incident marked a stunted growth of the religion. Some Americans have accused the Muslims of being dangerous, saying that they are not eligible to be part of American culture.
All American Muslims work hard to maintain a positive relationship with members outside their community. They also need to protect their civil rights and liberties. Most American Muslims have condemned the 9/11 attacks, saying that killing innocent people is not an order in the Koran. They stand united against injustice towards humanity, especially innocent people. These humble people will surely reap what they are sowing.
